The Presidency of the Republic of Kosovo has issued a strong reaction after a manipulated photo began circulating on social media an image generated through artificial intelligence with the clear intent of discrediting the President of the country.

In the official reaction, it is stated that the image is entirely fake, a fabricated montage created to mislead the public and damage the President’s reputation, Rks News reports.

“A manipulated photograph created through artificial intelligence tools is circulating on social media, with the sole purpose of discrediting the President of the Republic of Kosovo and fueling fabricated narratives that serve foreign agendas.

This image is FAKE, a constructed montage designed to cause confusion and harm the image of President Osmani, who every day with seriousness, dedication, and institutional integrity defends Kosovo’s interests and represents our state with dignity on the international stage,” the statement reads.

The Presidency describes the publication of such material as a low and dangerous act, linking it to organized disinformation campaigns and attempts to tarnish state institutions.

The Office of the President has called on the Kosovo Police and relevant authorities to take measures against those responsible for spreading this disinformation, which poses a risk to public safety, stability, and the country’s institutions.

“We call on the Kosovo Police and competent authorities to take the necessary actions regarding this disinformation, which not only undermines public safety but represents a direct threat to the institutions and stability of the country. The spread of such disinformation must be treated with the utmost seriousness,” the reaction concludes.
