Candidate for the Assembly of Kosovo Passes Away

Bastri Dubova, a candidate for deputy in the Assembly of Kosovo, has passed away. He was part of the electoral list of the Egyptian Liberal Party.

The news was confirmed by Veton Berisha, Chairman of the Egyptian Liberal Party, through a post on social media.

Berisha stated that Dubova had been declared an Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Obiliq, in recognition of his long-standing civic engagement and contributions to the local community.

“On behalf of the Egyptian Liberal Party, we express our most sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Bastri Dubova—a national activist, member of the Egyptian Movement, member of the Egyptian Liberal Party, and a candidate for deputy in the December 28 elections,” Berisha wrote.

According to the statement, Dubova was honored as an Honorary Citizen of Obiliq by the Mayor, Xhafer Gashi, due to his dedication and continuous work for the benefit of the municipality’s residents.

“We will remember our friend forever as a tireless activist, a noble and generous man. His loss is profound for his family, friends, and the entire Egyptian community. His contribution and commitment will remain deeply valued and unforgettable,” the statement continued.

Funeral Arrangements and Party Decision

Berisha announced that the funeral ceremony will take place today, December 16, 2025, at 12:00, in the village of Medvec, Municipality of Lipjan.

In honor of Dubova’s life and work, the Egyptian Liberal Party has decided to cancel all electoral campaign activities for the day.

The party also noted that the photograph shared in the announcement is the last image of Mr. Dubova, taken on December 14, 2025, during preparations for the December 28 parliamentary elections.
