Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani, reported that no security incidents have been recorded in northern Kosovo as of midday on the day of early parliamentary elections.

Elshani emphasized that the Kosovo Police, under the operational plan, have implemented all necessary measures and remain in continuous contact with relevant institutions to ensure a safe voting process.

He also addressed concerns regarding organized voting reportedly coordinated by the Serbian List, stating that the police are in close communication with both the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Prosecutor’s Office.

“Everything has been under control so far, and we have not had any incidents to report. Within the operational plan, we have coordinated with KFOR, the regular police, and border authorities. Last night around 19:00, there was a case of voter coercion which we opened as an investigation and forwarded to the serious crimes department. Today, we have had a case of organized voting, and we are in contact with the CEC and the Prosecutor’s Office. If necessary, we will take further measures,” Elshani told Tëvë1.

His statements underline Kosovo Police’s proactive approach to ensuring electoral integrity in the northern municipalities, particularly amid reports of coordinated political activities by local actors.
