Kosovo has one of the lowest numbers of online escort profiles in the Balkans, according to data from a major platform used to advertise such services.
The escort industry, already widespread across parts of Europe, has also expanded throughout the Balkans, with many profiles reportedly linked to women from Latin America who advertise sexual services online.
In some countries, prostitution and related activities are illegal or heavily restricted. Authorities have also warned that trafficking networks may use online escort platforms to exploit women and force them into providing sexual services.
On July 21, 2026, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty published an article titled “From Latin America to Kosovo: How Women Are Trafficked for Sexual Services?”, focusing on Kosovo and highlighting the relatively low number of arrests connected to such cases.
But regional figures provide broader context.
According to data reviewed from one of the largest online platforms carrying escort listings, Kosovo had 618 profiles, one of the lowest totals among the Balkan countries included in the comparison.
Only Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 339 profiles, and North Macedonia, with 399, recorded lower figures.
By contrast, Albania had 2,083 profiles, Serbia 1,726, Montenegro 1,649, while Croatia recorded the highest number, with 2,319 profiles.
