Vjosa Osmani became the most-voted individual in the history of elections in Kosovo since the introduction of open lists, when she received 300,756 votes in 2021.

Now, five years later, Glauk Konjufca, Deputy Leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), has surpassed that figure, even though the Central Election Commission (CEC) has not yet completed the counting of postal and conditional ballots.

Konjufca currently stands at 300,912 votes.

LVV leader Albin Kurti remains by far the most-voted candidate, with 383,718 votes, breaking his own previous record.

Osmani, who assumed the office of President in 2021 through political cooperation with Kurti—who at the time formed the government—has now called for the continuation of “good joint work” with the LVV leader, whose party secured around 50% of the vote in the parliamentary elections held on December 28.

Following LVV’s decisive victory of 50.28% in the parliamentary elections of February 14, 2021, Osmani emphasized that the result was a “joint achievement.”

“When we ran separately, I received around 200,000 votes, 225,000, but when we joined forces, we reached 440,000 votes. What I am saying is that it was a joint force, a joint result. Consequently, both of us led the campaign, as candidates for president and prime minister. We supported each other. Because when it is said ‘Vetëvendosje supported you’—hold on, it was reciprocal. It was reciprocal,” Osmani said in an interview with Kallxo Përnime in 2024.
