Mihrije Daçaj, whose twin sons were killed in Prizren during the last war in Kosovo, has demanded a life sentence for Millosh Pleskoviq.

She made these statements during the Appeals Court session reviewing the appeal against the Basic Court in Prishtina’s decision in the case against Pleskoviq, who is accused of war crimes in the Prizren area.

“We demand a life sentence,” Mihrije said briefly.

The defense attorney, Blend Gjini, also called for a harsh sentence, arguing that the appeal by the lawyer representing Pleskoviq was unfounded.

“Considering that we are dealing with the killing of Albanian civilians, and given that the suffering has been recounted again during the session, we consider the sentence from the first-instance court too lenient. The law prescribes up to 20 years for such criminal acts. We ask the Appeals Court, taking into account these circumstances and facts, to impose a life sentence on the accused. Therefore, I propose to the Special Department for War Crimes to reject the lawyer’s request, as it is baseless,” he stated.
