The Basic Court in Prizren announced that today, January 24, 2026, starting at 14:00, hearing sessions have been scheduled to determine the security measures for the case in which 109 individuals were arrested on January 23, 2026, related to suspected offenses against voting rights.
The announcement is intended solely to inform the public about the hearing schedule.
“The hearings have been scheduled to organize and ensure the proper conduct of the process, but the acceptance of requests from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren for determining security measures has not yet been completed. Therefore, the number of requests received and the individuals for whom security measures will be requested may change,” the announcement states.
Yesterday, during a large-scale operation by the Police and Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren, 109 people, including commissioners and other individuals, were arrested and detained for allegedly influencing the election results of candidates for deputies in this municipality.
