Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci has expressed his worries about Balkan security, citing tensions between Kosovo and Serbia following the latter’s military exercises near the border.
The head of the Defense Ministry stated that the Balkans still face instability due to Serbia-Kosovo tensions and other security-related issues.
He emphasized that finding mechanisms for European integration through inter-parliamentary diplomacy and European cooperation is in the general interest of Western Balkan countries.
Minister Maqedonci also addressed Russian efforts to destabilize the region, including through fake news.
He made these remarks during the proceedings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Southeast European Cooperation Process, under the theme “Challenges in the field of security in the countries of Southeast Europe: political and security consequences as a challenge for peace and stability in the region.
