Emilja Rexhepi has confirmed that communication is ongoing regarding negotiations to form a new government, stressing that the completion of the vote recount is being awaited before concrete discussions begin on executive positions.
Speaking on Dukagjin Television, Rexhepi said she has also held talks with caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti regarding the election results.
“Naturally, I have spoken with the Prime Minister as well about the election results, and we are waiting for the vote recount before sitting down to discuss positions in the new government,” Rexhepi said.
She emphasized that the previous government provided broader space and autonomy for non-majority communities, noting that their representation was significantly wider than in the past.
“The previous government offered substantial space for non-majority communities. In the past, only the Serbian community had a deputy prime minister, whereas now there has been more autonomy and room to support all communities living in Kosovo,” Rexhepi stated.
Rexhepi underlined that she is not focused on personal positions, but rather on the institutional role and representation of non-majority communities, stressing that no one can be blackmailed or forced to act against their will.
She also revealed that she has voted against several initiatives in the Assembly when they failed to guarantee full equality for non-majority communities.
