President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that Kosovo’s selection as a founding member of the “Peace Board,” a major international initiative led by the United States of America, has been overwhelmingly positively received by global leaders and sends a powerful message about Kosovo’s statehood and sovereignty.
Speaking on the “Përballje Podcast” with Editor-in-Chief Muhamet Hajrullahu, President Osmani said that not only leaders present at the founding ceremony, but also numerous other world leaders, later reached out to commend Kosovo’s inclusion.
“First of all, this was highly appreciated by all the leaders who were present that day, but also by many others who were not there and contacted me afterward. Leaders from Europe to Asia and Latin America expressed the view that the Republic of Kosovo is a strong and reliable partner of the United States of America,” Osmani said.
She emphasized that Kosovo’s selection as a founding member by U.S. President Donald Trump was seen as a clear signal of trust and strategic alignment, underscoring Kosovo’s role in promoting global peace and stability.
“The impression created is that Kosovo was personally chosen by President Trump as one of the states he trusts to be a founding member of an organization of great importance — not only to him, but to global peace as well,” Osmani added.
President Osmani further revealed that discussions with several presidents, including leaders from countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo, highlighted the significance of the U.S. decision for their future stance toward Kosovo.
“Some leaders from non-recognizing states openly told me that this move by the United States carries extraordinary weight for their future decisions regarding Kosovo. That is of immense importance for us,” she said.
According to Osmani, Kosovo’s role among the 20 founding states sends an unmistakable international message: Kosovo’s statehood is consolidated, irreversible, and internationally anchored.
