The session scheduled for tomorrow at 17:00 for the Constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo will be presided over by the eldest MP, Avni Dehari (LVV), assisted by the youngest MP, Fatma Taçi (KDTP).

The Speaker of the previous legislature, Dimal Basha, convened a preparatory meeting today with representatives of the parliamentary political parties.

“The Speaker of the Assembly and party representatives agreed that, according to the Rules of Procedure and previous practice, the party with the largest number of MPs, namely Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, will sit in the central seats of the plenary hall. To the right of the hall, from the perspective of the session chair, will sit the second-largest party, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, while to the left will be the Democratic League of Kosovo,” the statement said.

“Other MPs, including those from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and representatives of the Serbian and other non-Serb communities, will occupy the remaining seats,” the statement continued.

During the meeting, Speaker Basha informed party representatives of the agenda for the constitutive session. The first item on the agenda will be the formation of the Temporary Commission for verifying the quorum and mandates of MPs, followed by the swearing-in of MPs. The session will then proceed with the election of the Speaker of the Assembly and, subsequently, the Deputy Speakers.

“For the final agenda item, on the proposal of non-majority community representatives, the political parties agreed that the voting for the five Deputy Speakers will be conducted as a package,” the statement added.

In the meeting, Speaker Basha also urged parliamentary parties to submit their parliamentary groups as soon as possible, so that the Assembly’s working bodies can be established without delay.
