Municipality of Pristina Issues Guidelines for Citizens Following the Earthquake

The Municipality of Pristina has informed citizens that tonight at 22:05, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck southeastern Kosovo (the Prizren–Shtërpcë area).

The earthquake was felt in several parts of the country. So far, the municipality confirms that there have been no reports of injuries or serious material damage.

“Relevant institutions are continuously monitoring the situation,” the municipality assured citizens.

In light of the situation, the municipality has issued the following important guidelines for citizens:

  • If further tremors occur, stay away from windows and objects that may fall.
  • Indoors, take shelter under a sturdy table or near a load-bearing wall.
  • After the tremors stop, carefully move to open spaces.
  • Do not use elevators and avoid unnecessary movement.
  • Check your homes and assist individuals who may need help.
  • Rely only on official sources for information.
