The Ministry of Labour, Family and Values of the Liberation War (MPFVLÇ) and the German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) have signed an implementation agreement for the “Economic Empowerment of Women (EEW)” project.
The initiative aims to improve structural, individual, and social conditions for women in Kosovo by increasing their access to the labor market and employment opportunities, with a particular focus on women from rural areas and underrepresented groups.
“Through this project, support will be provided for the development and improvement of employment services, strengthening institutional capacities, career guidance, professional training, and the promotion of active labor market policies, with the aim of creating more opportunities for women’s inclusion in economic life,” the Ministry of Labour, Family and Values of the Liberation War announced.
The project also foresees close cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Family and Values of the Liberation War and the Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo to support social enterprises.
The Ministry stated that, within this framework, a joint working group will be established and a needs assessment will be conducted, forming the basis for planning further activities in line with the project’s objectives and available resources.
“The agreement is part of the development cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Federal Republic of Germany, implemented within the framework of agreements and arrangements between the two governments for economic and technical cooperation. It once again demonstrates the close partnership between the two countries in support of Kosovo’s economic and social development,” the statement added.
