The leadership of the Albanian American Relations Council (AARC) held a productive meeting with Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis to discuss key issues affecting the Albanian-American community and US policy in the Balkans.
President Martin Vulaj, Board Chairman Ilirjan Rusi, and Board Member Vehbi Bajrami emphasized the importance of Kosovo’s integration into NATO and reaffirmed their support for mutual recognition as the central outcome of the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue process, according to the statement.
They also raised concerns regarding the rights of the Albanian language in North Macedonia, stressing the importance of the full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement as a stabilizing mechanism. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of appointing a new US Ambassador to Albania as a step toward strengthening bilateral relations.
The discussion further underlined the strategic importance of the enduring security partnership between the United States and the Albanian people, described as a safeguard against Russian influence and destabilizing tactics in the region.
AARC reiterated its commitment to advancing these priorities on a bipartisan basis and strengthening the strategic relationship between the two nations.
