Miroslav Aleksić, president of the People’s Movement of Serbia (NPS), harshly condemned the Serbian government for its blatant protection of criminals at the expense of ordinary citizens.

“It is absolutely unacceptable that the police, under the orders of Vučić’s regime, shield Uglješa Mrdić and other criminals from Ćaciland while brutalizing the very people they are sworn to protect,” Aleksić told N1.

“Every officer who today stood in defense of this corrupt and criminal regime, turning against their own people and state, will carry eternal shame,” he added.

Aleksić accused the authorities of targeting citizens instead of criminals: “Where are those willing to speak up and demand accountability? These are our mothers, fathers, and children. And yet, the regime’s enforcers attack them, arrest them, and protect the criminal network tied to Vučić’s power.”

He sharply criticized the government’s response to Dijana Hrka, a mother seeking justice for her child and the other victims of the Novi Sad tragedy. “The regime and its pro-government media acted in a grotesque, frightening manner, portraying a grieving mother as a threat while ignoring the real criminals.”

Aleksić said the authorities effectively turned part of the city into a “forbidden zone,” barring Hrka from reaching the Assembly. “From Pioneer Park to the streets, and finally to the Assembly, the city became a fortress for Vučić’s allies—accessible only to those loyal to Ćaciland,” he concluded, pointing to the government’s oppressive tactics.
