An American student has begun full-time master’s studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina, becoming the first US citizen to pursue full-time studies at the faculty.
Virginia Hugo-Vidal was welcomed on October 7, 2026, by Faculty of Law Dean Professor Avni Puka.
Hugo-Vidal will study in the English-language master’s program “Human Rights, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice,” which focuses on human rights, international criminal law and transitional justice.
According to the Faculty of Law, her enrollment marks another step in the internationalization of the University of Prishtina. International students and professors have been participating in the program since the 2023/2024 academic year.
The faculty said the inclusion of students from different countries is intended to encourage academic exchange, broaden international cooperation and strengthen collaboration in the field of legal studies.
