The Municipality of Pristina has completed the asphalting of “Agim Ramadani” Street, one of the city’s main traffic arteries, which is expected to reopen for circulation on Monday morning. The work was carried out over the weekend and included a new layer of asphalt and updated road markings.

What has drawn public attention is the appearance of crossed yellow lines near the traffic lights by the Kosovo Assembly. This marking system, known internationally as the “Yellow Box Junction,” originated in London in the 1960s and is being applied in Prishtina for the first time.

The purpose of the Yellow Box system is to prevent traffic gridlock at busy intersections. According to its main rule, vehicles should not enter the marked area unless they can fully cross the junction, even if the traffic light is green.

So far, the Municipality of Prishtina has not issued any official statements or specific guidelines for citizens on the implementation or enforcement of the Yellow Box system
