Biden is currently at his home in Dellauer, where he has been isolated due to the coronavirus infection.

The American president has insisted that he can defeat the Republican Donald Trump, as he is facing pressure to leave the race.

Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillion, acknowledged that there is a “decline” in support for the president, but insisted that he will “absolutely” stay in the race and that his campaign “has some way to go” to defeat Trump. .

“We have a lot of work to do to reassure the American people that yes he is old, but he can win,” she told MSNBC. She said voters’ concerns about Biden’s ability to lead the country are not driving them to vote for Trump.

“They have questions, but they’re standing with Joe Biden,” she added.

At the same time, the Democratic National Committee is expected to meet on Friday to push forward the planned virtual vote before August 7, where the party’s presidential candidate is expected to be nominated. This virtual meeting will be held before the party holds its Convention later in August in Chicago.

A majority of Democrats think the vice president, Kamala Harris, could be a good candidate for president.

According to a poll conducted by the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, six in ten Democrats believe Harris would make a good president. Two in ten Democrats believe she would not make a good president, and another two in ten have no opinion.

Democrats at the highest levels have asked Biden to reconsider his candidacy. Among them, it is reported that former President Barack Obama has expressed concerns about Biden’s candidacy, and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, is reported to have privately told the president that the party may lose the ability to take control of Chamber, if he does not withdraw from the presidential race.

Also on Wednesday, California lawmaker Adam Schiff, a close Pelosi ally, became the highest-profile House Democrat to call on Biden to drop out of the race.

Concerns about Biden’s ability to lead the country for another term grew after the June 27 presidential debate with Trump. Biden himself has admitted that he did not perform well during the debate, but has since rejected calls to withdraw from the race.
