The citizen protest in Tirana has entered its 27th day, with a new march taking place from “Skënderbej” Square toward the Prime Minister’s Office. Protesters gathered around 7:00 PM before moving along “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard.
Carrying banners and national flags, participants continued their calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.
During the rally, organizers presented five main demands. These include the resignation of the government and the formation of a transitional technical government with a 12-month mandate, as well as constitutional changes aimed at ensuring equality before the law, electoral reforms, and a limitation on the number of terms a prime minister can serve.
Protesters also demand the repeal of several legal amendments, including those related to protected areas, cultural heritage, the so-called “Mountains Package,” and the framework for strategic investments.
Finally, organizers called for the drafting of a new social contract between citizens and the state, to be developed through consultations with experts and non-partisan citizens.
