The administration of President Donald Trump has dismissed General Timothy Haugh, the head of the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Cyber Command.

The exact reasons for his removal are not yet clear, but it comes after a meeting between President Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer on Wednesday. Loomer reportedly asked Trump to fire certain employees whom she suspected of not supporting his agenda.

Loomer posted on X (formerly Twitter) that General Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble, who U.S. media also reported were dismissed, “were disloyal” to President Trump. This, she claims, is why they were let go.

Before their dismissals were reported, Trump told reporters that he would remove any staff members deemed disloyal.

“We will always ‘let go’ people who don’t like us, or people who benefit from them, or those who might have loyalty to someone else,” he said to reporters aboard Air Force One.

Trump made these comments after reports surfaced about the dismissal of at least three other officials from the National Security Council at the White House (NSC), following his meeting with Loomer. The president did not confirm the names of those fired.
