The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, in a media conference called today, spoke about the letter that was made public today, in which she confirms that the Government of Kosovo is preparing a Draft for the Association based on The draft drawn up some time ago by the “FES” foundation.
Asked if such a step is considered late, Gërvalla said that if they considered it as such, the Government of Kosovo would send it earlier and not today.
As for the positions of the allied countries and about the German position that such a step does not meet the expectations of the allied countries, Gërvlla has said that today he will not talk about support or about securing support.
“If we had known that it was late, we would have sent it earlier, we would not have sent it today. Why not in advance, I want to preserve the process, today we will not talk about the partners who support us, nor about the provision of support. We have seriously expressed our will”.
“We know that this step is not easy for the Government of Kosovo. We are waiting for what the reaction will be and our hope is great that this commitment of ours will be taken seriously”, said Gërvalla.
She said that Kosovo expects the Council of Europe to fulfill its part and invite Kosovo for membership, given that Kosovo has already taken its step.
