Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla recalled the Studenica Massacre in Istog, where Serbian forces massacred six elderly people and four young girls 25 years ago.

She emphasized that the Studenica Massacre is a chilling testimony to the genocide and crimes committed by Serbia during the recent war.

“25 years ago, Serbian forces massacred six elderly people and four young girls in Studenica, Istog. Qëndresa Lipaj, 15 years old, Njomza Lipaj, 14 years old, Mirdona Lipaj, 13 years old, and Lindihana Lipaj, 12 years old, from Kamenica of Istog, had gone to seek shelter with their relatives in Studenica,” Gërvalla wrote.

“Enver Lipaj, the father of two of the massacred girls, cannot hold back tears as he recounts that after their execution and massacre, these four angels, along with the elderly, were thrown into the house’s well, covered with various items, before the well was blown up with dynamite.”

“The Studenica Massacre is a chilling testimony to the genocide and crimes committed by Serbia during the recent war. To this day, none of the perpetrators of this crime have been punished or tried.”

She emphasized that to honor their painful sacrifice, the blood shed for freedom, they visited the Lipaj family and, together with them, paid homage at the memorial plaque.
