Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister Nik Gjeloshaj, following a controversy in parliament regarding the status of the Municipality of Ulqin and changes to the Law on Local Self-Government, shared a social media post in which Ulcinj is described as an “Albanian city.”
“Ulcinj was a city. Ulqin is a city. Ulcinj will always be a city. Ulqin is a city with an Albanian-majority population. Ulqin is an Albanian city,” reads the post shared by Nik Gjeloshaj.
According to the same post, Ulqin is “a city captured by certain politicians known for corruption.”
“Ulqini is a city that will be liberated in June 2027. Ulqini is a metropolitan city of European tourism,” the post shared by Gjeloshaj on social media states.
