Sheikh Bandar Baleela, the Imam of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) in Mecca, arrived today for an official visit to Kosovo.
At Pristina International Airport “Adem Jashari”, he was welcomed by the President of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, Mufti Naim Tërnava.
“During his stay in Kosovo, he will attend the International Quran Competition currently being held in Pristina, where he will honor the participants from 22 different countries with his presence,” said the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK) in a statement.
In addition to attending this religious event, the Imam of the Grand Mosque is also expected to visit several sites of historical, religious, and national importance in Kosovo, including Islamic heritage landmarks and places of significance to the history of the Kosovar people.
