Indictment Against a Serbian Suspect for War Crimes

The Special Prosecutor’s Office has raised an indictment against the accused, with the initials M.P., of Serbian nationality, on suspicions of committing the criminal offense of “war crimes against the civilian population.”

As stated in a communication from this prosecutor’s office, the offense is sanctioned under the criminal law of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as the law in force at the time of the commission of the offense.

The accused is charged with participating in the murder of the victims Reshat Daçaj, Binak Daçaj, and Fatmir Bojaxhiu around September 1, 1998, near the “Hoqa Mahalla” neighborhood in Prizren.

The accused is under pre-trial detention. The case has been transferred to the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina.
