Kallas Begins Visit to the Western Balkans on Monday, but Not to Kosovo

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will conduct an official visit to the Western Balkans from April 7 to 9, but she will not visit Kosovo.

This was announced on the official EU website.

This visit, Kallas’s first to the region, includes high-level meetings in Montenegro, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Kosovo is not part of her official agenda.

In Montenegro, Kallas will meet with President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. She will also participate in an inspection of equipment funded by the European Peace Facility and will hold a press conference with Prime Minister Spajić on April 7 at 10:40 AM.

The visit will continue in Albania, where on April 8, she will meet with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. On the same day, at 10:25 AM, she will hold a joint press conference with Rama.

During her stay in Tirana, Kallas will also meet with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, she will visit EUFOR troops and meet with members of the Presidency, as well as high-ranking state officials, including Prime Minister Borjana Kristo and Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković.

Meanwhile, a press conference with the Presidency of Bosnia is scheduled for April 8.
