Major General Özkan Ulutaş, commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo, met today with Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci in Prishtina.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the security situation and the cooperation between KFOR and Kosovo’s security institutions. Major General Ulutaş emphasized KFOR’s commitment to supporting sustainable security in Kosovo and the wider region.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), aimed at ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo and maintaining freedom of movement at all times.
The mission works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), supporting their roles as responsible security institutions.
