The leaders of political parties have been invited to attend a meeting tomorrow at the Assembly with Glauk Konjufca to discuss preparations for the constitutive session of April 15.

Glauk Konjufca, in his capacity as Speaker of the Assembly, will host the political party leaders for a meeting tomorrow at noon.

Last Thursday, the Assembly announced this meeting, which will be held a week before the constitutive session of the Assembly.

There is only one item on the agenda: “Preparations for the Constitutive Session of the 9th Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.”

The constitutive session of the Assembly will take place on April 15, as decided by President Vjosa Osmani. On the same day, LVV intends to elect the government, as declared by the party leader, Albin Kurti.

Seeking the formation of the government “as soon as possible,” the president believes there is enough time for political parties to carry out the necessary discussions before April 15.

She expressed hope that “this process will go as smoothly as possible and that the constitution will be completed on the same date.”

LVV won 42.30% of the votes and will have 48 seats in the Assembly of Kosovo, according to the final results of the February 9 parliamentary elections – meaning they will need a partner from the opposition to stay in power.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo received 20.95% of the votes (24 deputies), while the Democratic League of Kosovo got 18.27% (20 deputies).

The coalition of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with the Initiative and others received 7.06% of the votes (8 deputies – 5 AAK, 3 Initiative).

Together, the opposition holds more mandates (52) than the leading party.
