The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held her first official meeting with the President of the Syrian Interim Government, Ahmed al-Sharaa, during which they discussed cooperation between the two countries that have both undergone painful struggles for freedom, reports Rks News.
In a post on her Facebook page, Osmani emphasized the similarities in the historical experiences of the two peoples.
“The people of Kosovo and the people of Syria have endured countless sufferings from dictatorial and genocidal regimes in their fight for freedom,” Osmani wrote.
Osmani expressed Kosovo’s willingness to share its experience in building democratic institutions, emphasizing that the two countries share common wounds.
“Kosovo and Syria share the same wounds: the pain of war, displacement, and the challenges of rebuilding. Kosovo is ready to share its experience in the building of democratic institutions.”
