The Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals (PZAP) has rejected all remaining complaints filed following the latest vote recount process, clearing a major procedural hurdle toward the final certification of election results.
According to official rulings published on Wednesday, the election tribunal dismissed individual appeals from two high-profile parliamentary candidates representing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Qëndrim Kryeziu and Bekim Haxhiu. Both candidates had filed separate complaints requesting a comprehensive, full recount of all votes cast for PDK candidates, alleging discrepancies in the initial recount process.
Broad Dismissal of Party Grievances
In addition to the internal disputes within the PDK, the tribunal also shut down legal challenges brought forth by minority parties:
- Lista Serba: The main political entity representing the Serb community in Kosovo saw its post-recount appeal completely dismissed.
- Nova Demokratska Stranka (NDS): Two separate complaints filed by the Bosniak minority party regarding potential seat allocations and tabulation errors were also rejected.
With the PZAP rendering its final verdicts on these motions, election authorities are expected to proceed with the formal finalization of the legislative lineup, concluding weeks of legal and procedural back-and-forth at the counting center.
