The recent drop in global oil prices, fueled by fears that U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs will slow the global economy and by OPEC’s oversupply, is expected to bring relief to Kosovo’s consumers as well.

Fadil Berjani, head of the Kosovo Association of Oilmen, confirmed that the price movement of oil derivatives has already begun. Speaking to RTK, Berjani stated that fuel prices in Kosovo are currently the lowest in the region.

“The global drop in oil prices will also lead to lower fuel derivative prices in Kosovo,” said Berjani.

According to him, based on Kosovo’s current economic situation, the ideal price would be around 1 euro per liter. However, he emphasized that actual prices are determined by the global stock market and oil-producing organizations like OPEC.

Currently, fuel prices in Kosovo range as follows:

  • Diesel: €1.22 to €1.30 per liter
  • Petrol: €1.24 to €1.31 per liter

For comparison, prices in neighboring countries are significantly higher:

  • Albania: Diesel €1.89, Petrol €1.88
  • Serbia: Diesel €1.78, Petrol €1.79

Meanwhile, oil futures in the United States dropped by 7%, falling to $66.52 per barrel — marking the worst daily performance since July 2022. Crude oil, the global benchmark, also saw a 6% decline.

If the downward trend continues, Kosovo could see further reductions in fuel prices in the coming days.
