The Kosovo government is scheduled to hold its next meeting today at 4 p.m. at the government building, with the approval of the draft budget for 2027 expected to be among the main items on the agenda.

The meeting was announced by the Office of the Prime Minister. Following its approval, the draft budget is expected to be submitted to the Kosovo Assembly for review.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti had previously announced that the government would approve the budget proposal on Monday, describing it as a plan focused on capital investment, faster economic growth and improving the quality of jobs.

Speaking at a meeting of his party’s General Council on Saturday, Kurti said capital investment in 2027 would exceed €1 billion for the first time.

“On Monday, at the next government meeting, we will approve the draft law on the 2027 budget. It will be a budget focused on capital projects, accelerating economic growth and improving the quality of jobs. This is a budget for roads, railways and dams,” Kurti said.

He also emphasized the scale of planned capital investment, stating that allocations for this purpose would surpass €1 billion.

Meanwhile, lawmakers from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) have accused the government of failing to meet the legal deadline for submitting the 2027 draft budget.

Further details and decisions are expected to be announced after today’s government meeting, including the proposed budget allocations and the projects to be submitted to the Assembly for consideration.
