PRISTINA — Incumbent Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the outgoing French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guérot, in a farewell meeting to mark the conclusion of the diplomat’s mandate.
During the reception, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Guérot for his service and valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Kosovo and France.
“The partnership between Kosovo and France has developed continuously, and this year our cooperation was further concrete,” Kurti stated.
Kurti highlighted key diplomatic milestones achieved throughout the year, citing his working lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in March, followed by the July visit to Kosovo by France’s Delegate Minister for Europe, Benjamin Haddad.
These high-level engagements resulted in five bilateral agreements and instruments designed to advance cooperation across several key areas:
- Justice system reforms and educational exchanges
- Promotion of the Francophonie network
- Financial and institutional partnerships to support Kosovo’s hosting of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games
Kurti emphasized that these accomplishments lay a solid foundation for deeper bilateral cooperation moving forward. He reaffirmed that France remains a vital ally and strategic partner, noting that Paris’s continued backing is essential for Kosovo’s European integration and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti wished Ambassador Guérot success in his future diplomatic endeavors and emphasized that he will always be welcome in Kosovo.
