The authorities in Kosovo have seized 17.9 kilograms of heroin in a major anti-narcotics operation carried out by the Kosovo Police and the Special Prosecution.
Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla praised the operation, calling it a significant success in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.
In a statement, Sveçla congratulated law enforcement institutions for what he described as a coordinated and effective action that led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics.
He emphasized that combating drug trafficking is essential not only for public security but also for the health and wellbeing of young people. He added that there would be “no compromise” in addressing criminal groups and preventing activities that threaten society.
Authorities said efforts will continue to identify and dismantle networks involved in illegal drug trafficking.
