The Kosovo Police have confirmed that joint patrols with the Albanian State Police for the 2026 summer tourist season will take place from July 1 through August 31, 2026.

In a statement to IndeksOnline, the Kosovo Police said the cooperation is based on the 2026 Memorandum of Cooperation between the traffic police forces of Kosovo and Albania.

“Based on the Memorandum of Cooperation regarding the joint services of the Albanian and Kosovo Traffic Police for 2026, this cooperation will begin on July 1, 2026, and continue until August 31, 2026. Police officers will be deployed to locations determined by the assessments and operational plans of the Albanian Police,” the statement said.

The confirmation comes after Albanian authorities announced that around 1,600 additional police officers will be deployed across the country during the summer tourist season. The security plan also includes cooperation with the police forces of neighboring countries, including Kosovo.

The joint patrols aim to facilitate communication with Kosovo citizens spending their holidays along Albania’s coastline, while also enhancing public safety and improving traffic management during the peak tourist season.
