On the second day of his stay in the capital of Germany, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, together with the Ambassador of Kosovo to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, continued meetings with political representatives and deputies of the Bundestag.
According to the media statement, Kurti discussed with dozens of deputies from the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Green Party (Grune), and the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
“The meetings began with Dr. Rolf Mützenich, the deputy and Chairman of the SPD Parliamentary Group. The Prime Minister thanked him for the invitation to participate in the event organized last night by the SPD marking the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe. Meanwhile, at a working lunch, he met with deputies Michael Roth (SPD), Andreas Schwarz (SPD), Knut Abraham (CDU), Michael Brand (CDU), Jürgen Hardt (CDU), Volkmar Klein (CDU), Volker Ulrich (CDU), Philip Krämer (Grüne), Max Lucks (Grüne), Boris Mijatovic (Grüne), Ulrich Lechte (FDP) and Thomas Hacker (FDP), among others.
It is also announced that the main topic of the discussions was Kosovo’s application to the Council of Europe and the path towards full membership in this organization.
“In addition to being grateful for the current support for our country, Prime Minister Kurti called on German deputies and the German government to continue supporting Kosovo even in the final step, based on the opinion of rapporteur Dora Bakoyannis, the historic vote of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 16, and the register of the legal framework, human rights, rule of law, and democracy in Kosovo,” the statement said.
