Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, met with Finland’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Matti Nissinen, to discuss bilateral relations, the February 9 elections, and steps toward forming new institutions following the certification of results.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting also covered regional security concerns and developments in Europe, particularly in light of Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
“The central topics of discussion included Kosovo-Finland bilateral relations, cooperation between the Finnish embassy and the government, the February 9 elections, and the formation of institutions after the certification of results. Additionally, the security situation in the region and Europe, three years after Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, was addressed. Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for Finland’s continuous support for Kosovo,” the statement read.
Finland has been a longstanding supporter of Kosovo, particularly in strengthening democratic institutions and advancing European integration efforts.
