Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted members of the Austrian association “Forchheimer Kreis”, led by President Josef Hochtl and MEP Lukas Mandl, during their two-day visit to Kosovo.
During the meeting, Kurti highlighted the government’s achievements over its mandate, including:
- Average economic growth of 6% over four years
- Doubling of exports and foreign direct investment
- Increased employment
- Tripling of the defense budget
“These results reflect a consolidated democracy and policies focused on social justice, transparency, rule of law, and equal opportunities for all,” the official government statement read.
Kurti also pointed to Kosovo’s high rankings in Gallup and Henley reports, noting that the country is considered one of the safest in Europe to live and invest in, and is recognized internationally as the fastest reformer in rule of law and democracy in the region.
The discussions further covered regional developments, security, infrastructure investments, and public administration reforms.
“The Prime Minister wished the delegation a productive visit and emphasized that Kosovo’s historical ties, cultural closeness, and shared values make Austria one of its closest partners,” the statement concluded.
