Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited the family of Kosovo Police Sergeant Muhamed Lika today to offer his condolences following the officer’s tragic killing on Tuesday, April 1.

During his visit, Kurti praised Sergeant Lika’s life and service, highlighting his contributions to law, order, peace, and security in Kosovo. He also honored Lika’s role in Kosovo’s liberation as a former fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).

Kurti vowed that the investigation into Lika’s murder will be pursued with determination and that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

“Sergeant Muhamed Lika worked tirelessly for law, order, peace, and the security of our citizens and state. Before that, he served as a UÇK fighter for the liberation of our people and country. His murder will be solved, and the cowardly criminals will be prosecuted and punished. His name will live on, and his memory will not fade,” Kurti wrote in the book of condolences.

Sergeant Lika was shot and killed in front of his residence on the evening of April 1, shortly after completing his shift.

Four days after the murder, the suspects have yet to be apprehended.
