The European Union’s precondition that Kosovo and Serbia should engage constructively in the framework of the dialogue process and implement all obligations from the Ohrid-Brussels Agreement and past agreements, so that they can benefit from the billions of Growth Plan, has prompted Prime Minister Albin Kurti to pledge to the official Brussels for the constructiveness and implementation of all agreements.
The head of the Government of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on Friday met with the director general for enlargement of the European Union, Gert Jan Koopman, to whom he made commitments for the full implementation of the agreements reached with Serbia in the framework of the normalization dialogue, those arising from the basic agreement on the path to normalization and also the past agreements of the dialogue. Kurti in this meeting indicated that Kosovo is committed to moving forward with the normalization process and has committed to constructive engagement.
“In this context, Kosovo pledges to fully implement all the respective obligations arising from the basic agreement on the path to normalization and its implementing annex, including all past dialogue agreements. The details of the implementation will be discussed in the dialogue under the facilitation of the EU,” Kurti said after the meeting with Koopman.
However, in an interview given on Friday to “Reuters”, Kurti, when speaking about the Association, said that he is ready to talk about that agreement, but specified that he is not talking about something that would affect Kosovo as a state.
The Kosovo head of government has also been critical of the West for focusing solely on the Association issue, saying there are a wide range of agreements between Serbia and Kosovo that Serbia has failed to implement.
