The Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Özkan Ulutaş, met with U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), at KFOR Headquarters in Camp Film City in Pristina.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Major General Ulutaş to brief Senator Ernst on the security situation in the region and to reaffirm KFOR’s continued commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo.
Ulutaş also expressed his appreciation for the longstanding and valuable contribution of the United States to the NATO-led KFOR mission.
KFOR continues to carry out its mandate based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, contributing to a safe and secure environment for all people in Kosovo and ensuring freedom of movement at all times and in an impartial manner.
KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in accordance with their respective security roles.
