British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, following his visit to Kosovo this week, shared footage from a location where British technology is being tested to help Kosovo combat smuggling.
Lammy highlighted this topic in the video, stating that his government is working with partner countries in the Western Balkans to suppress these criminal groups.
“From surveillance to seizures: this is how our government is working in the Western Balkans to help dismantle the gangs that fuel irregular migration to the United Kingdom,” he said alongside the video.
Lammy emphasized that the technology provided by the UK to Kosovo is crucial in the fight against these gangs.
“Here in Kosovo, British-provided technology, such as drones and endoscopes, is helping to stop gangs from smuggling arms and people across the region,” he said, adding that they are determined to stop them.
Minister in charge Xhelal Sveçla also announced Lammy’s visit yesterday.
“Together with Secretary Lammy and his delegation, we visited the National Border Management Center and witnessed firsthand the demonstration of technological equipment through which our border police prevent cross-border illegal activities.”
