A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck Serbia early Friday morning, with tremors felt by residents in the Novi Pazar area, according to the Republic Seismological Institute of Serbia.

The earthquake occurred at 2:19 a.m., at an estimated depth of 2 kilometers, according to the institute.

The tremor was particularly noticeable in the Lug settlement in Novi Pazar, where residents reported feeling their beds and windows shake.

Although the earthquake was relatively weak and is not expected to have caused significant material damage, authorities have not yet provided a full assessment of any possible effects.

Residents described the shaking as brief but strong enough to wake them from sleep. Some people went outside onto their terraces and in front of their homes after feeling the tremor.

No injuries or major damage have been reported so far.
