Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Board of Peace for Gaza, has welcomed Kosovo’s decision to join the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, following the signing of a participation agreement in Prishtina.

“Grateful to Kosovo for joining the International Stabilization Force for Gaza. Your contribution is a clear commitment to implementing the Comprehensive Plan. Welcome, Kosovo!” Mladenov wrote on X.

The agreement was signed on September 7 between representatives of the Board of Peace/ISF Gaza and Kosovo Security Force (KSF) Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari during a visit to Kosovo by ISF Gaza Commander Major General Jasper Jeffers and his team.

The Board of Peace has identified Mladenov as its High Representative for Gaza, while Jeffers serves as commander of the International Stabilization Force. The force is part of the broader framework for implementing the Comprehensive Plan for Gaza.

The Kosovo Security Force has described its participation as part of Kosovo’s strategic goal of moving from a “security importer” to a “security exporter” by contributing more actively to international peace and security missions.

Kosovo’s participation adds another international partner to the stabilization effort, which is expected to involve security, training and support for the implementation of the broader Gaza plan.
