Kosovo’s European agenda, its integration process with the European Union and continued cooperation were at the center of a meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca and the EU’s new ambassador to Kosovo, Dirk Schübel.

Konjufca received Schübel for an introductory meeting following the start of the ambassador’s mandate and wished him success in his new position.

According to Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Konjufca emphasized the importance of direct and substantive engagement between Kosovo and the European Union.

He said such engagement should ensure that the progress achieved by Kosovo is translated into concrete steps toward European integration.

The meeting comes as Kosovo continues to pursue closer alignment with the EU and advance its European agenda. Kosovo formally applied for EU membership in December 2022 and remains a potential candidate for accession.

The two sides also discussed the continuation of cooperation between Kosovo and the EU, with the meeting underscoring the importance of maintaining close institutional engagement as Kosovo works toward its European objectives.
