Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has stressed the importance of preserving peace and respecting borders in the Western Balkans, calling for a clear perspective on European Union enlargement.
Speaking at the opening of the Berlin Process Summit in Montenegro, Spajić said Europe’s future must be built on security, peace and every nation’s right to determine its own future.
He emphasised the importance of EU enlargement, describing it as a process that contributes to peace and security across the continent.
“Preserving peace means that borders cannot be changed by force and that every nation has the right to choose its own future. Europe must have the same clarity when it comes to enlargement. Enlargement is the reunification of our continent; it is an ongoing promise of peace and security in Europe, which remains the hope of our common home,” Spajić said.
The Berlin Process Summit brings together Western Balkan leaders and representatives of EU member states to strengthen regional cooperation and advance the region’s European integration.
