Arbërie Nagavci, head of the parliamentary group of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, has stated that no concrete proposal has yet been officially received from the opposition regarding the presidency.
She emphasized that beyond statements on social media by the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo, no formal proposal has been submitted to provide the country with a consensual president.
According to her, LVV has stepped back from the presidential position and invited the opposition to propose three acceptable candidates from outside the current political scene.
“Lëvizja VETËVENDOSJE! yesterday took another step forward to enable overcoming the deadlock in electing the president by giving up this position and inviting the two largest opposition parties to come forward with three proposals of unifying candidates outside the political scene, with integrity and proven contribution. Beyond statements in the media and on social networks from PDK and LDK, so far, we have not officially received any concrete proposal in response to our offer to provide the country with a consensual and unifying president,” she wrote on Facebook.
Nagavci added that, given the urgency and importance of the situation, she expects the opposition to present concrete proposals and called on them to contribute to resolving the crisis and ensuring institutional stability.
“Due to the weight of the situation and the importance of the deadlines, we remain awaiting concrete proposals even tonight, and we once again invite PDK and LDK to contribute to overcoming the situation by proposing three names, making available the signatures of all their MPs, and bringing an end to the crisis while providing citizens with the institutional stability the country deserves,” she added.
