NATO has introduced a new initiative called “Front Door”, aimed at facilitating greater access for Turkish defense industry companies to the Alliance’s €5.3 billion Innovation Fund. The program was unveiled during the NATO Summit in Ankara.
The initiative is designed to reduce bureaucratic barriers and accelerate the participation of Turkish companies in NATO projects focused on the development of advanced military technologies, according to media reports.
Through the program, Turkish companies will have increased opportunities to apply for funding and participate in projects related to artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, cyber defense, space technologies, and other strategic fields.
NATO officials emphasized that the goal is to strengthen cooperation with the defense industries of member states and accelerate the development of innovative technologies that will enhance the Alliance’s defense capabilities.
Turkey, which has significantly expanded its defense industry in recent years, is expected to be among the key beneficiaries of the initiative, gaining greater opportunities to contribute to NATO’s joint projects and secure funding from the Alliance’s multibillion-euro innovation fund.
