It was on April 4, 2021, when Vjosa Osmani was elected president of the country with 71 votes in favor in the Kosovo Assembly.
After four years at the helm of the state, Osmani herself responded through a post on the social media platform Facebook.
“Every day, first and foremost, Kosovo. Four years in service of the citizens. Four years for the Republic. Four years as President, an eternal oath for Kosovo,” Osmani wrote.
Today, one year later, Vjosa Osmani’s mandate is expected to conclude.
A few days ago, when asked if she plans to continue her mandate for another four years, Osmani stated that no political decision she makes has been based on calculations of where she will be, but rather on the interests of the citizens of Kosovo.
“At the beginning of next year, we will discuss this matter. Throughout my entire political career, I have worked keeping in mind only the interests of the Republic of Kosovo and all of its citizens. Never, no political decision of mine has been based on calculations of where I will be, but only on where Kosovo and its citizens will be. Even this time, the assessment about where I can contribute will be determined solely by considering the interests of Kosovo and its citizens. I have never depended on politics, nor do I now,” she had expressed.
