A site in the village of Verboc, Drenas, could reveal important traces of early human history, as archaeological research is currently being carried out there focusing on the Paleolithic period.
The Mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, together with Deputy Mayor Arben Shala, visited the site where researchers from the University of Tübingen in Germany are conducting investigations in cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo.
The research team also includes archaeologist Sami Haziraj from Drenas, as well as Prof. Dr. Harald Floss, a renowned professor and researcher specializing in the Paleolithic period. Fieldwork from the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo is being led by archaeologist Luan Gashi.
Initial surveys at the site began in 2021, while ongoing research has highlighted the significant archaeological potential of Verboc.
